Since the recent move to California *my home state!!!*... Bonnie Forkner of Going Home to Roost has made a lovely nest for herself :) What was once a barn... complete w. hay loft... is now a bright... spacious abode popping w. color & life.
Everything is kind of mis*matched... yet beautifully so... which makes the home REAL & ATTAINABLE vs. what you might find in staged homes. A cozy cottage indeed. Well done Mz. Thang... 3 snaps & a hip bump are acomin' your way!

Stumbled across a collection of fabulous images documenting Morrocan architecture & design... & what can I say? I exited the browser feeling inspired & am now convinced that Marrakesh will be my permanent residence rather than Paris :) If it is not already obvious... I like to dream... A LOT... mostly because reality tends to consist of work & money... but without the worry of one or the other... the world is where it's at! *Note to Self: SELF... find a job that will pay me well to

The heat & humidity made for less than ideal hiking conditions... nonetheless... I was determined to make my way to Fairy Lake Garden where I stumbled across praying buddhas... & pagodas... & temples... OH MY!

Consider yourselves lucky. I am much too lazy on this sweaty... humid... pore-clogging morning to bother with beautifying my photos. If you ever decide to dilly dally on over to my foodie & travel blog... it may or may not be obvious that I am a GINORMOUS fan of photo editing. Seriously... who wouldn't want to look at a recently snapped photo of a half-eaten croissant that looks like it was taken a quarter of a century ago?! Pur-eeety ah-mazing.
Now... let's talk about work. I'm not a fan.

Oh my Lawdy... it must have been a year *at least* since my last 'Featured Home' post. I was in search of a fabulous vintage home because 'Anthropologie Vintage' seems to suit my style more than any other... and I came across this Brooklyn townhome. Many of the furniture pieces were designed or refurbished by a local Brooklyn shop... Nightwood... and I cannot imagine a more inviting space for a book club... or scrap booking... or afternoon tea... or lounging... and well... you get the idea :)

Beautiful wreath using a variety of succulents. DIY instructions via BHG. You may recall from a previous post my obsession w. orchids & succulents. My orchids... BTW... are alive & well :) A true miracle for a brown-thumber such as myself. Succulents are extremely low-maintenance *which I love* and absolutely gorgeous as a centerpiece... in the garden... in terraniums... and now... as a wreath :)

Now why can't MY breakfast nook look a bit more like this... ... ...
Takeaway Ideas:
Plush sofa for additional seating
Mis-matched wall art
Floral centerpiece
But what I like most about this space is that when you take away the table setting... the space instantly converts into a cozy little reading nook :)

Fashion for Home is a UK based shop that values sustainability & environmental responsibility. Concern over the environment is apparent as many of the products are manufactured using recycled material. The dining table... lounge chair & TV unit *pictured below*... for instance... utilize reclaimed wood from Chinese shipping boats that travelled down the Pearl... Li... Yangtze & Huang Rivers in Southern China. How RAD is that?! A bit of history & design wrapped into one beautiful package
